Denis Gagnon is involved in the energy field for more than 30 years. He spent the last 23 years working for Hydro-Quebec, one of the largest electric utility inNorth America. As a Manager, Business Development, Mr Gagnon was responsible for developing and implementing the commercial strategies of TransÉnergie, Hydro-Quebec’s transmission division. Previously, he was acting Director for Electricity Purchases from Non-Utility Generators, where he conducted Hydro-Quebec’s first Request For Proposals (RFP) for non-utility generation. Mr Gagnon previously worked for SOQUIP, an oil and gas crown corporation, where he conducted various regulatory and economic studies related to oil and gas transmission and distribution systems. Mr Gagnon testified frequently before the Régie de l’énergie and other judicial and arbitration courts as an expert witness on electricity transmission and regulation issues and on electricity purchasing. Mr Gagnon holds a Master degree in Economics fromLavalUniversity. Mr Gagnon was also Part-time Lecturer in Economics at Laval University and Université du Québec à Chicoutimi.
