Senior manager and engineer
Michel Armstrong is a senior specialist in electrical power system operation and control. He has more than 28 years experience at Hydro-Québec as manager and engineer in the reliable and economic operation of generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. He is responsible for the crucial activities related to ensure the balance of supply and demand in real time and the security of the power flows within the electrical system of Québec and inter-system operation with other interconnected electrical system. He has a large experience in project management for the development, implementation and maintenance of the control room information system and the automatic systems for the reliable operation and control of the electrical network. He is an active member of International electric reliability organisations. He has a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, (1980 Ecole Polytechnique de Montréal) and a Collegial degree as Electronic Technician, (1969 Institut de technologie de Montréal).
