Dr. Pamela Sloan

Pamela Sloan is an Adjunct Professor in the management department. She holds a Ph.D. from HEC Montréal in corporate strategy and an MA in Economics from Cambridge University. She has been a visiting scholar at Harvard Business School and INSEAD. She teaches strategy, boards of directors and governance and consulting in the MBA and undergraduate programs. Dr. Sloan’s research interests center on coherence in strategy, integrative processes in strategy formation and strategy and sustainability. She is a member of the international research team for Project RESPONSE, a groundbreaking global study on corporate social responsibility. This project has been designed in cooperation with leading business schools and multinational corporations in Europe and North America. It is funded by the European Union and co-ordinated through INSEAD. Prior to pursuing an academic career, Mrs. Sloan gained extensive practical experience as a corporate executive and consultant. She is a former Vice-President of the Toronto Stock Exchange, and is the founder of an economics and management consulting firm with corporate clients in Canada, the United States and Australia. Her consulting work has focused on corporate stakeholder relations and sustainability practices, particularly relating to human resource development and community relationships.
